It’s almost the end of summer, which means there are a lot of watermelons on sale! Unfortunately, not all of them are perfectly ripe any more. In fact, many of them are a little bit mushy and splitting open inside. So what can you do when you cut open a watermelon and it’s overripe? Watch the video below and find out!
Before I made this video, I didn’t know you could eat watermelon seeds. You can actually eat most melon seeds — for example, honeydew, cantaloupe, and watermelon — and they contain iron and protein as well as other helpful vitamins and minerals. Who knew? :’P
You don’t actually need overripe watermelon to try out these ideas. Normal watermelons will work just fine, but these recipes do seem to work especially well with soft, very sweet fruit.
